PORTA (Conecel – Consorcio Ecuatoriano de Telecomunicaciones), América Móvil’s subsidiary in Ecuador, has awarded a contract to Tecnomen that includes a Convergent Charging rating solution for voice and data (SMS, MMS, WAP, Internet, and GPRS) and postpaid billing, SMS FDA, VPN Platform and Voice Mail messaging expansion.
PORTA is the leading mobile operator in Ecuador with more than 5 million subscribers. The company has been using Tecnomen’s Prepaid system since 2002.

The solution has been pre-integrated with network equipment from leading network vendors, and supports simultaneous use of different bearer network standards.
